Who we are

At El Mirasol Inc. we are proud to be the largest Hispanic store in the Plant City area and the largest tortilla manufacturers in the state of Florida. Family owned and operated since 1987, we humbly serve our local community and provide high-quality, authentic Mexican food.

Our story began in the 1980's when Patricia and Guillermo Gama moved to Plant City, Florida, from Houston, Texas, and saw a need for fresh tortillas, a staple in Mexican cuisine. We began to make and sell tortillas in small batches. Then in February of 1987, we opened El Mirasol as a bakery selling Mexican pastries and candies. It wasn’t long before our business became popular, and as demand grew for our tortillas, we opened a factory dedicated to producing corn and flour tortillas, the first in Florida.

As we grew

Over the years, we expanded our business, transforming El Mirasol into a grocery store complete with a meat market, a bakery, a deli, and ice cream parlor. We opened Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant, serving Tex-Mex cuisine inspired by Patricia’s childhood in Texas. Our restaurant uses only the freshest and finest ingredients to serve authentic Mexican and Southwestern dishes. Many of our ingredients can be found in our store, so you can prepare delicious, Mexican dishes right in your own home.

Today, El Mirasol is a cherished part of the community with evidence of our success found across the state. We believe in the value of hard work and humility, and we love our community to whom we owe our success.
